Breaking: Australian arrested in Israel

Former Yeshiva College student Natalie Gershoig has been arrested for evading the draft while visiting Israel for Yom Kippur.

Gershoig, who is 27 years old from Sydney, was in Israel to visit her mother, but has instead spent the last few days in a military jail.

She lived in Israel for several years as a teenager but has since moved permanently to Australia.

An IDF prosecutor said that Gershoig was still living in Israel when she received her draft notice.

Gershoig is set to appear in court in Israel tonight.
