Building confidence

Academic Excellence acknowledges that each child is unique, and they should be taught that way.

Providing an innovative educational experience, Academic Excellence is more than just about words and numbers. They’re in the business of building confidence and self-esteem, providing a nurturing environment where students can thrive.

Offering a unique range of facilities and resources for primary and high school students, Academic Excellence acknowledges that each child is unique and needs to learn in their own way, allowing them to unlock their individual potential within.

Established and coordinated by former high school principal and senior HSC marker Alida Markovics, Academic Excellence is not simply another tutoring college, but rather, an academic learning centre that encourages children to flourish, achieving not only their academic potential but their emotional potential too. Acknowledging that self-esteem is one of the biggest assets of positive learning, Academic Excellence uses one-on-one tutoring, allowing tutors to really get to know each student – what students like, what they dislike and how they learn best.

And while the staff have definitely seen the emotional benefits in their students, this has led to academic achievements too, with many students obtaining ATARS in the 90s. “For me, it’s about being able to give kids the potential to reach their goal,” said Markovics. “It’s making that connection as well. When a child says to me, ‘I can’t get that’, I say ‘let’s work towards it’. This gives them a goal to work towards, guided by our dedicated staff who will help push them to achieve it”.
