Catching up with Uncle Boydie

CEO of Courage to Care Mike Zervos presented Uncle Boydie with the latest Annual Review booklet and provided an update on Courage to Care's activities.

Courage to Care is continuing to visit schools all over Victoria with recent visits to Sale, Bendigo and Shepparton.

While volunteers were delivering Upstander programs in Shepparton and Numurkah they took the opportunity to catch up with the charity’s patron Uncle Boydie Turner and another member of the William Cooper family, David Jago.

Uncle Boydie is the oldest living Yorta Yorta Elder and a constant source of inspiration to the organisation explained Zervos.

The Courage to Care team got to hear firsthand his memories of his grandfather, Indigenous leader William Cooper, which those in attendance described as a rare treat for everyone.
