Cooking up a special bond

WHAT better way for two groups of women to get to know each other than over a mixing bowl and spoon?

That is exactly what a handful of Melbourne women did at a cooking class organised by the National Council of Jewish Women of Australia recently.

Sudanese and Jewish women gathered at Council House just before Rosh Hashanah to share each other’s special recipes.

The Sudanese women prepared savoury treats, including an eggplant and peanut salad.
