EXPAND your Jewish knowledge at the brand new South Caulfield Academy of Jewish Education (SAJE)
EXPAND your Jewish knowledge at the brand new South Caulfield Academy of Jewish Education (SAJE), an initiative launched by South Caulfield Shule. SAJE will be offering five different courses starting on Monday, March 7, giving people the opportunity to further their connection to the Jewish community, grow and learn.
The courses on offer are Read it in Hebrew, Haftorah, Learn to Daven, Lead Passover Seder and Intimate Waters. The courses cater to all different knowledge levels, and will be taking place at South Caulfield Shule.
Classes run from 8-8.50pm, and are open to Jews from all walks of life. After the courses, light refreshments are available for participants, ahead of a lecture with the scholar in residence from 9 to 9.30pm.
The new scholar in residence is Rabbi Benjy Simons who has just recently moved to Melbourne with his family, to take up teaching at Yeshivah-Beth Rivkah. Rabbi Simons will be covering a broad range of topics, including; risking one’s life to save another and fasting before feasting.
Each course costs $25 for the five weeks if you preregister or $10 a week at the door.
