COVID expert joins Friends of Rambam

PROFESSOR Mary-Louise McLaws has been announced as the Australian Friends of Rambam’s honorary president.

McClaws is an epidemiologist with expertise in hospital infection and infectious diseases control, who has become a familiar face throughout the pandemic, appearing on major Australian news channels. She is a member of the World Health Organisation Health Emergencies Program Experts Advisory Panel for Infection Prevention and Control Preparedness, Readiness and Response to COVID-19, and a member of the NSW Clinical Excellence Commission COVID Infection Prevention and Control taskforce.

McClaws said she is delighted to be joining the board.

“My hope is that I can assist Rambam by bringing awareness of its innovative achievements to a wider community outside of Israel,” she said.

“I hope to support the work of AUSFORAM of our Jewish communities and build broader awareness and support of Rambam.”

To improve health in the community, the Australian friends of Rambam have worked together with experts based in Rambam, Israel, in conducting a range of health and wellness activities.
