KEHILLAT MASADA

Double the joy for barmi boy

As Kevin Sandler celebrated his 30th bar mitzvah anniversary, his 13-year-old son Josh celebrated the occasion of his own bar mitzvah.

THE meaning behind the well-known saying in Judaism of l’dor v’dor – from generation to generation – was felt very strongly by all who attended Kehillat Masada in St Ives on June 18, for a doubly special proud family moment.

As Kevin Sandler (pictured left) celebrated his 30th bar mitzvah anniversary, his 13-year-old son Josh (right) celebrated the occasion of his own bar mitzvah.

Not only was it at the same shule, but many of the same guests came to share the moment with Sandler junior and Sandler senior, and there was certainly the same level of nachas for both of them.

Josh’s proud grandmother, Rayna Sandler, revealed she’d “cried so much this Shabbat … the joy is overflowing – what a special community”.

Mazal tov to Josh and Kevin, and to their extended families, for creating such a special and joyous Shabbat milestone.
