Morry Frenkel speaks with Dr Daniel Heller, the Kornhill Senior Lecturer in East European Jewish History at Monash University’s Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation, about his ongoing research into Gender, Resilience and Adaption in Melbourne’s Holocaust Survivor Community. Daniel discusses the aims of the interdisciplinary project and how it differs from previous studies into the effects of the Holocaust on survivors and the second generation. He also provides some preliminary insights that have come from the data collected so far.
