Morry Frenkel speaks with Elise Esther Hearst, about the Melbourne Theatre Company’s production of A Very Jewish Christmas Carol, the play she wrote with Phillip Kavanagh. Elise describes the development of the play – based on the Charles Dickens classic – subversion of the antisemitism in the original story and the inclusion of Yiddish. She also talks about cast members Evelyn Krape and Jude Perl and director Sarah Giles.
