First 2026 grant recipients announced
Wolper Jewish Hospital Health Foundation has awarded funding to six community health and wellbeing programs.
The Wolper Jewish Hospital Health Foundation (WJHHF) has announced the six recipients of its first grant round for 2026, funding programs that support health and wellbeing across the community.
The grants were awarded to Human Nature, which provides early intervention support for young people aged 14 to 18 on the far north coast of NSW; Dreams2Live4, which fulfils dreams for adults with terminal cancer; SmartAid, for its mobile communications and emergency response vehicle deployed with St John Ambulance NSW; the Australian Jewish Fertility Network (AJFN), for its fertility health initiative for community members aged 25 to 35; Lifeline Direct, for training five new volunteer crisis supporters at its Bondi centre; and Top Blokes, for its mentoring program supporting young men.
SmartAid chairperson Alethea Gold said the grant had helped equip “a vital mobile communications and emergency response vehicle that will assist St John Ambulance NSW teams during major emergencies, disasters and community events”.
AJFN chief executive Justine Saidman said the grant would support the organisation’s new foundations program, “focused on empowering young Jewish people to make informed decisions about their fertility future”.
Top Blokes managing director Melissa Abu-Gazaleh said the funding would help deliver “early intervention, evidence-
informed mentoring programs that support young males to improve their mental health and wellbeing, strengthen relationships, make positive choices and build resilience”.
WJHHF chair Richard Glass said the foundation was proud to support programs creating positive health outcomes.
“Fully funded by Wolper Jewish Hospital, our work is driven by Wolper’s commitment to helping improve lives beyond the hospital walls.”
