‘F**k Jews’ daubed in Caulfield Park
On Sunday, the words 'F**k Jews', along with a swastika, were seen daubed on a bench and a pole at Caulfield Park, which attracts many Jewish visitors.
ANTISEMITIC vandals have targeted locations in Victoria and NSW twice in two days, prompting a warning from the Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) that “this is becoming the norm and we cannot let our guard down”.
On Sunday, the words “F**k Jews”, along with a swastika, were seen daubed on a bench and a pole at Caulfield Park, which attracts many Jewish visitors.
The following day, the ADC was alerted to a swastika scrawled on a children’s playground at Umina Beach on the NSW Central Coast.
“What kind of sick and evil people vandalise a place where kids play with a symbol that represents the systematic murder of 1.5 million children?” ADC chair Dvir Abramovich lamented.
“Imagine how distressed a Holocaust survivor, taking their grandchild to this playground would be.”
He added, “The perpetrators of these cowardly crimes, who want to keep Hitler’s torch of hate burning, are hell bent on destroying the sense of safety and harmony that has always characterised Australian Jewish life by spreading their poison in the heart of our community, in places like Caulfield Park.
“We hope that those responsible will be caught and held to account for their ugly deeds, and I call on all leaders, especially mayors, to say in a strong and loud voice, ‘Not in our city!’”
