AUSTRALIA’s most famous 14-year-old singing sensation is set to star at Jewish House’s Big Night Out on December 7.
Jack Vidgen, who took the judges’ breath away when he sang Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing during an audition for Australia’s Got Talent earlier this year, has taken the world by storm.
His audition video has had more than three million hits on YouTube and he’s recently performed in Las Vegas. “I’ve been through a few things in my life, and there was a time when my mum and I were homeless and were living in our car,” Jack said while visiting the facilities at Jewish House this week. “It is very fulfilling for us to help people get out of these situations.”
Jewish House’s chief executive Rabbi Mendel Kastel said it was very special to have someone so talented, but also so connected to his organisation. “As he walked through the accommodation at Jewish House, he remarked about how wonderful it is to have a place like Jewish House and how wonderful it is to give back to an organisation like the one that helped him,” Rabbi Kastel said.
