TWO senior academics from Israel’s Ben-Gurion University will visit Australia next week in order to strengthen ties with local tertiary institutions and with supporters in the Jewish community.
A highlight of their 11-day visit to Sydney and Melbourne will be a meeting with Monash Medical School in Melbourne to discuss cooperation in paramedic training.
University president Professor Rivkah Carmi said an English-language paramedical program at the southern university has been established for Jordanian students and the institution “would like to offer it to students from all over the world”.
Prof Carmi added that during their visit, she and academic Professor Amos Drory “would like to spark interest in the Jewish community and have people visit the university on their next trip to Israel in order to have a firsthand Ben-Gurion University experience that we believe will change their lives”.
