THE Chief Executive of Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Todd Greenberg, has been rewarded for his success in turning the club around from cellar dwellers to title contenders in 2009, with the board signing him on for another three seasons.

“For me, I always said that I wanted to be at the Bulldogs long term, but I had to earn that right,” Greenberg told The AJN.

“I think we’ve achieved a lot in my first two years, but there’s plenty more to achieve. It’s a good opportunity I’ve got and I’m looking forward to taking on the next phase.”

Greenberg was the subject of offers from rival rugby league and AFL clubs, but with the Greater Western Sydney AFL franchise trying to get a foothold into the Bulldogs heartland, Greenberg was never going to be poached.

He has the chance to cement the Bulldogs’ future and says his reasons for staying are simple: unfinished business.

“So far we are heading in the right direction but there is more to do,” he added. “I want to judge myself over a longer period of time. It’s an exciting time to be involved.”

With the newfound stability at the club, chairman George Peponis said Greenberg’s re-appointment would add further confidence and stability to one of rugby league’s most famous clubs.
