JCA survey

Have your say on school education

All parents of Jewish children (aged 2 to 20) are invited to have their say on school education in an online community-wide survey.

DECIDING on a school for our children is one of the many important decisions that we make in our lives.

In our community, students attend a range of government schools, Jewish day schools and other non-denominational independent schools. Many also attend programs run by synagogues, BJE, BPJE, JEMS, youth movements and other organisations.

As a community, JCA wants to understand what’s important to you in your children’s education. How did you make the decision on which school to send your children to?

How well are your children’s current schools or other educational organisations meeting your needs? What can we as a community do to better support our children’s education?

JCA has engaged Nous Group, an independent Australian-owned management consultancy, to work with the community and our education providers to get an in-depth understanding of what is important to parents in our community, and to help us shape the future of education of Jewish children, whether they are in Jewish day schools, government schools or other independent schools.

“There are some 13,000 Jewish families in NSW,” said JCA CEO Alain Hasson.

“And probably just as many opinions about Jewish education. This is a unique opportunity for all parents of Jewish children and young adults – whether they are toddlers or whether they have just finished school – to have their say on education for the future.”

To gather the community’s opinions, Nous Group has recently launched an online community-wide survey and JCA is urging all parents to participate so that the broadest range of opinions can be included in the study.

JCA, the Jewish day schools and other JCA educational providers are working collaboratively in this study towards a common goal.

“We are all dedicated to ensuring our children receive the best possible Jewish education which will in turn create community success and generational success,” said Hasson. “And we’re very interested in your opinion.”

The survey will be open until August 24, 2020.
