SLEEPING bags were at the ready for a warm-hearted project on a chilly night, as Team Gandel Foundation came out in force at a sleepout at the MCG to raise funds for homeless people.

Gandel Foundation’s Silva Bernhard, Nicole Brittain and Kiera Maloney were joined by Jewish Care’s Vanessa Cohen on May 10 for a night of experiencing what it might be like sleeping rough – to raise funds for Melbourne City Mission’s annual Sleep at the ‘G.

The team raised funds on a matching basis with Gandel Foundation, providing a total of $21,786.

“Sleep out overnight with a group of friends or family and experience what it might be like to be homeless for a night,” Melbourne City Mission urged Victorians.

“In Victoria, more than 6000 young people are without a safe place to sleep, and funds for housing and support services are more vital than ever. Our work to support young people experiencing homelessness is now more vital than ever and we need your support.

“Our services wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of generous donors and fundraisers in the community. Thanks to people like you, we’re able to raise awareness and vital funds for our range of services.”
