Hiking for a good cause in Israel

A GROUP of 25 hikers from Britain are on a four-day trek from the Mediterranean coast to the Sea of Galilee to highlight the present water crisis facing Israel.

The fund-raising hike is called Walk for Water 2009 -— From Sea to Sea and will raise money to upgrade two reservoirs in the Negev.

The hike, which was at the initiative of the Jewish National Fund in Britain, started on October 19 and has participants ranging in ages from 9-79 who are walking about 20 kilometres a day.
