Kingsford Smith MP’s show of support

"We are eternally grateful when people not in the [Jewish] community stand with us, and say we are with you.

Assistant Minister of Defence, Kingsford Smith MP Matt Thistlethwaite, came to the Heffron Centre last Saturday to watch the round five NSW Futsal Premier League fixture between Maccabi Hakoah Futsal Club (MHFC) and the Mascot Vipers, to show his support for the Jewish community.

Thistlethwaite, a MHFC patron, chatted with some of the club’s players, and also to Zvi Ben David, who runs the Mascot Vipers.

Ben David has more than 50 family members currently in Israel.

MHFC president Daniel Sharp said, “The Jewish community in Israel has been tragically attacked, and we in Sydney feel every blow.

“We are eternally grateful when people not in the [Jewish] community stand with us, and say we are with you.

“Matt has been a patron of the club for several years, gives us his time, and has helped the club on numerous occasions.”

Thistlethwaite commented, “Australia stands with the people of Israel. I offer my support to all Jewish members of our community. My office is here to help if you need assistance”.
