Australia’s largest community multilingual radio station Radio 3ZZZ broadcasts three Jewish programs, each one designed to meet the needs of the particular audience it is addressing.

The three Jewish shows are delivered in English, Hebrew and Yiddish, and the station has an estimated audience of between 300,000 and 400,000 listeners.

The Jewish Broadcasting Group at Radio 3ZZZ is one of the original ethnic broadcasting groups since the radio station was established in 1989 and has been consistently broadcasting Hebrew, Yiddish and English programs over that time.

The Friday Hebrew program titled Sha’ah Shel Ivrit (An Hour of Hebrew), is hosted by Ruth Gilmour and the light hearted Sunday Yiddish program is hosted by regular broadcasters including Bobbi and Michael Zylberman.

The Wednesday English weekly radio program L’Chaim – To Life is hosted by Maurice Klein, and produced by Team L’Chaim which consists of Maurice Klein, Dr Morry Frenkel, Jeff Degen and Dr George Banky.

The show includes interviews with international experts, federal, state and local politicians and community leaders as well as community identities, authors, musicians and performers.

An English language news bulletin from Israel and a preview of the headlines from the following morning’s AJN complete the show.

Producer George Banky told The AJN, “The 3ZZZ 92.3FM broadcast footprint enables our English language weekly program to be a vehicle in promoting Israel and the Jewish community to the wider Australian community and beyond.

“This is Team L’Chaim’s modus operandi.”

The Jewish Broadcasting Group present shows on Wednesdays 9-10pm (English), Fridays 3-4pm (Hebrew) and Sundays 11am-12pm (Yiddish). To listen online go to: 3zzz.com.au, or tune in on FM frequency 92.3FM.
