‘Live at Yours’ has teamed up with the Melbourne Hebrew Congregation, known locally as ‘Toorak Shule’, to present five concerts of world class artists in this exquisite heritage listed venue in 2024.

Beginning February 28, Midnight in Paris will feature celebrated concert pianist Konstantin Shamray, who is the first ever concert pianist to win both First Prize and the People’s Choice award at the Sydney International Piano Competition.

Shamray plans to sweep you off your feet and transport you to a Parisian night with his incredible interpretation of classical masterpieces. From Debussy’s Suite Bergamasque (Claire de Lune) to Ravel’s nostalgic La Valse, enjoy the sublime romantic classics for an immersive night out with some- one special.

The star-studded season will also feature: From Budapest with Paprika with Hungarian violinist Jószef Lendvay and acclaimed pianist Edward Neeman on May 24, Piano Gran Turismo with superstar pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk on July 21, Bohemian Rhapsody with Ensemble Liaison on September 5, and jazz legend James Morrison makes his first appearance in the venue on November 13.

Founder of ‘Live at Yours’, renowned conductor and pianist Vladimir Fanshil, told The AJN, “We invite the community to join and support us in solidarity and celebration of our culture, our magnificent synagogue and our resilience to continue to create and share beauty even when society is divided and antisemitism rife!”

Cited as “the most beautiful acoustics in the country” by the chief conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Umberto Clerici, Toorak Shule’s stained glass windows, towering ceilings and intricate geometric design will bring the audience on a journey transcending geographical bound- aries.

The artist-led event organiser, Live at Yours, began in lounge rooms and backyards during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following three successful Sydney series in 2020-2023, the organisation remains committed to delivering the finest live music experiences to diverse audiences in 2024.
