The ongoing conflict in Israel has cast a shadow of uncertainty over our community. Families, especially children, have been asking difficult questions. “Where are my friends who went on school holidays to Israel?” They ask with innocence, their minds grappling with the complexity of a world far from the playground.

Parents, too, are facing their own set of challenges. They’re wrestling with the words to answer these innocent yet profound enquiries. In the face of uncertainty, it’s not easy to find the right words to comfort and reassure our young ones.

Families are distraught about loved ones who may be affected by the conflict. The news brings both anguish and anxiety. We feel the pain and the weight of concern for those who may be in harm’s way, whether in Israel or within our own community.

At JewishCare, we stand united with our community and offer unwavering support during these trying times.

I want to remind our community that we are here for you. If you or someone you know is struggling with the emotional toll of the conflict, please reach out to us at JewishCare. We have a dedicated crisis team ready to respond and provide the support you need.

JewishCare, in partnership with Jewish House, have established a support team of counsellors and social workers to be available for those who may need support.

We encourage you to reach out to talk to a professional about any anxieties or concerns you have about the situation.

Our team, supported by generous donors and dedicated volunteers, is providing counselling and emotional support for the community, including our children and families, helping them navigate these difficult conversations and emotions.

The questions from our children and the concerns of our parents drive us to act, to be the pillar of strength our community needs. Together, we can provide solace to those who are grieving and give guidance to those grappling with questions that have no easy answers.

Our mission is clear: to stand together, to find answers together, and to ensure that no one faces these challenges alone. In these uncertain times, let’s be the beacon of hope, comfort and unity that defines the Jewish community.

Thank you for your compassion, your support, and your commitment. Together, we can weather the storm and emerge stronger, reaffirming the resilience that is at the heart of our community.

Call JewishCare on 1300 133 660 during business hours and Jewish House outside of these hours on 1300 544 357.
