Opening after hours
The Thursday night sessions offer a unique way to explore the museum, its collection, and powerful, inspiring stories.
THE Sydney Jewish Museum is offering an exciting new evening visiting experience on the first Thursday of each month, called History After Hours.
The first session was held from 4.30pm to 8pm on February 2, when ticketholders enjoyed a guided tour of the museum, along with complimentary nibbles, beverages, and music.
They had access to all exhibitions, including the new high-tech Holocaust survivor testimony exhibition Reverberations: A Future for Memory.

The next History After Hours event, from 4.30pm on March 2, has a Pride theme – a nod to the Sydney WorldPride 2023 festival.
Visitors will be able to deepen their understanding of human rights and the queer-Jewish story, and learn about the history of human rights violations under the Nazi regime, and the Nazis’ attacks on the LGBTI+ community.
That evening’s tour will include the story behind the Gay and Lesbian Holocaust Memorial in Green Park, across the road from the museum, which commemorates the suffering of the LGBTI+ community during the Holocaust.
Attendees will encounter some of the incredible stories of resistance in the face of Nazi persecution from the museum’s collection, while celebrating some of the major triumphs in human rights since the Holocaust.
Tours will take place at 5.30pm and 6.30pm on the night.
Entry to History After Hours is $25, and tickets must be pre-booked online.
