Rabbi Kaltmann to represent J-Comm

'This initiative is an important step by the department to create cohesive and stronger communities across all of Australia.'

Rabbi Gabi Kaltmann.

Rabbi Gabi Kaltmann has been appointed as the Jewish community’s representative to the Department of Home Affairs Faith Communities Reference Group.

The aim of the ongoing reference group is to bring together diverse faith community representatives from across Victoria to facilitate collaboration, and hear from different perspectives, with a view to improving the department’s service to faith communities, as well as better informed advice to government on matters regarding religious communities.

Rabbi Kaltmann said he is “excited” to take up this position representing the Jewish community, adding, “With this new role I will be able to make representations on behalf of our community and I look forward to working closely with many other faith and community leaders, some of whom are already my good friends.

“This initiative is an important step by the department to create cohesive and stronger communities across all of Australia.”
