With Pesach just around the corner, Together With Israel is organising a rally on April 14 to once again shine a light on the plight of the hostages still in Gaza and demand their release.

“As we approach Passover, we feel it is appropriate to echo the timeless call of ‘Let my people go’ and call for the freedom of those unjustly held captive,” said Hagit Ashual from Together With Israel.

“For 178 days, our hearts ache as 134 individuals still remain separated from their families, forcibly taken from their homes. It seems the world has turned its gaze elsewhere, but we refuse to let their plight be forgotten.”

Formed soon after October 7, Together With Israel has organised a number of successful rallies all with the aim of keeping the hostages front of mind and calling for them to be released.

“Together with Israel stands as an apolitical beacon, solely focused on reigniting the conversation surrounding the captives of October 7,” Ashual said.

“With no political agenda Together With Israel’s aim is singular: to bring our missing loved ones back home.”

The program on the day of the rally will revolve around the individuals directly impacted by this tragedy. Speakers will be local community members who are families of hostages and who are still enduring the pain of not knowing the fates of their loved ones. Among them are Michal Keshet, Zack Shachar, Lior Vizental and Rabbi Elozer Gestetner from Coogee Synagogue, each representing the ongoing pain and hope for reunion.

“We ask our community to unite with us in a pivotal rally in support of Israel, dedicated to the cause of bringing the remaining 134 hostages back home,” Ashual said.

“This will help not only to raise awareness, but also offer much needed comfort to the struggling hostages families in Israel.”
