MORE than 200 people gathered at the University of NSW to mark the 14th anniversary of the assassination of former Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin

Hosted by the State Zionist Council of NSW and Encounters@Shalom, the service included the recitation of poetry, a candle memorial and a musical performance by Ben Goldstein of the Emanuel School.

In 1995, an Orthodox Jew gunned down Rabin at a peace rally because he opposed Rabin’s policy of trading land for peace with the Palestinians.
