Mount Scopus College is excited to announce two new programs for young families – Gan Katan and B’Yachad.

Gan Katan is modelled from Scopus’ popular toddler program for 2-3 year olds, Gan Gani. The new program will offer a similar, but age modified, experience for 1–2-year-olds, with a choice of two weekly time slots, commencing in Term 3.

For over 20 years, Scopus has offered the Gan Gani program, a sessional activity operating for 2-3 year olds to attend with a parent, grandparent or carer in the year prior to commencing Lower Kinder. This eases a child’s transition into kinder by helping them become familiar with the environment and with each other. Gan Katan will operate in a similar way, with structured play, Kabbalat Shabbat, singing and socialising for both children and carers.

Scopus will additionally be launching the B’Yachad Parents Group, commencing in August.

B’Yachad will offer hour-long weekly sessions over six weeks, for parents to attend with children aged 6 weeks to 6 months. Run by a qualified early childhood educator, the sessions will facilitate play time with your baby and time to socialise with other parents. There will also be a specialist speaker each week on topics that are important to new parents, such as sleeping, feeding, and language development.

Gan Katan and B’Yachad will add another dimension for the very youngest learners in Scopus’ Early Learning Centres.
