Sides agree to ‘open-ended’ ceasefire
At 2am Wednesday morning (Australian time) a ceasefire came into effect.
The conflict between Hamas and Israel seems to be over, for now.
Palestinian and Israeli leadership announced the truce.
The ceasefire will see an expansion of Gaza’s fishing zone and, according to some reports, and opening of the border crossings between Gaza and Egypt.
As part of the deal negotiation teams from Israel and Hamas are expected to discuss the construction of a Gaza seaport in coming months.
