IF you want to know which of the American presidential candidates, if elected, will be best for the Jewish State, you may find out the answer at the forthcoming NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBOD) AGM.

The keynote speaker at the event is managing director of the Washington Institute Michael Singh, who is set to address attendees on the topic of “Trump vs Clinton: Implications for Israel”.

Formerly a senior White House official, Singh has also served as the senior director for Middle East affairs at the National Security Council. His CV also includes special assistant to secretaries of state Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell at the US embassy in Tel Aviv and Middle East adviser to Mitt Romney’s presidential -campaign.

In his current role, Singh conducts policy research and participates in the public debate over the direction and content of US Middle East policy, working closely with executive director Robert Satloff.

Singh plays a “key role in advancing our efforts to improve the quality of US Middle East policy through ideas, research, and scholarship”, said Satloff. “He brings an extraordinary range of talent, insight, and experience to the Washington Institute.”

The sentiment was echoed by institute chairman Howard Berkowitz, who described Singh as “a powerful and principled voice in the furthering of core American interests and values in the Middle East”.

JBOD “has brought Singh to Australia before, and the reason we have invited him again is that he adds enormous value in terms of brining insights from Washington on global issues which impact directly on Jews worldwide and on Israel”, said JBOD CEO Vic Alhadeff.

While in Australia, he will be conducting a range of media briefings, presentations to think tanks, speaking on university campuses and meeting with the NSW Parliamentary Friends of Israel. Singh has written extensively on the issue of US foreign policy, and is an accomplished speaker on the topic of America’s future in the Middle East.

“We are very pleased that he has accepted our invitation and we encourage everyone in the community to avail themselves of the opportunity to hear from an international authority on these issues,” Alhadeff said.

Michael Singh will speak at the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies AGM on August 16 in Darlinghurst. For more information, call (02) 9360 1600.
