THE Sydney Jewish Museum was put into lockdown on Tuesday after a bomb threat was made against the museum.

Emergency services were called about 12.30pm after a threatening phone call was made to the museum, prompting an immediate evacuation of the building.

Bomb detection dogs and teams of police searched the museum and surrounding areas, however nothing suspicious was located.

Occupants were allowed to re-enter the building at 3pm.

NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Vic Alhadeff said, “The NSW Police secured the area, the all-clear was subsequently given and we were assured that there is no risk to the facility or to the community.

“We wish to express our gratitude to the NSW Police for their swift response.”

A NSW Police spokesperson told The AJN investigations into the incident are ongoing.
