The Nanny happy with her openly-gay ex-husband

Fran Drescher will never marry again. She is, though, very happy to grow old alongside her openly gay ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson, telling the Daily Mail that the pair are closer than when they were married.

While the showbiz world was shocked when Jacobson split with Drescher and then came out at the height of his career, Drescher said that accepting that bad things happen to good people helped her overcome her personal struggles.

Drescher just accepted the inaugural Judy Garland Legacy Award at the Hollywood Museum’s LGBTQ+ Real To Reel Awards and had the audiences in stitches admitting she had no gaydar so never picked up on her husband’s sexuality, despite Jacobson choosing Cher as his hall pass.

When talking about his ex-wife, Jacobson was equally gushing. “When you are lucky in life and you meet your soul mate, there is nothing that can tear you apart. We vacation together. We do everything together … It is a deep, deep love.”

The pair were honoured for their contribution to the LGBTQ entertainment industry.

“I always feel like it’s very important that if you have celebrity, you must apply it towards the greater good or else you are absolutely wasting it,” Drescher said.
