Media brand Time announced Friday that it will host the Time100 Gala and Impact Awards in May 2023 in Jerusalem.

The Time100 Impact Awards recognises eight individuals – local, regional and international — who are using their influence to build a better future around the world.

The award recipients will be celebrated at an invite-only evening gala in Jerusalem, where Time will convene global and regional leaders, influencers, and visionaries alongside members of the Time100 community.

Previous Time100 Impact Awards have been hosted in Dubai and Singapore and have recognised musician and entrepreneur will.i.am, actor Alia Bhatt, and George Robinson, the former James Webb Space Telescope Program director, among others.

The announcement of the Jerusalem event was made at the Time Person of the Year reception in New York. The Jerusalem event will be presented in partnership with Israeli-Canadian philanthropist Sylvan Adams.

The Time editorial committee will soon begin the process of choosing the local and international winners, having visited Israel several times over the course of the last few months.

Adams said the Time100 Awards are an opportunity to showcase the wonderful things happening in Israel, “where cooperation between Jews and Arabs, and new discoveries and innovations are everyday miracles.”
