‘Warmest wishes to our Jewish community’
A reminder of of the enduring values that bind us together as a community.
On behalf of the NSW Opposition, I extend my warmest wishes to our Jewish community as you gather to welcome the year 5786.
Rosh Hashanah is a season of reflection, renewal and hope – a time to pause, to take stock of the year that has been, and to look forward with optimism and purpose. It reminds us of the enduring values that bind us together as a community: faith, family, resilience and an unwavering commitment to peace and justice.
The sound of the shofar calls us to introspection and to action – to recommit ourselves to compassion, understanding and the building of a more harmonious world. In a year that has brought challenges both here and abroad, including the continuing conflict in the Middle East, these lessons resonate more deeply than ever.
As you light the candles, share meals with loved ones and dip apples in honey, may these traditions inspire a renewed sense of strength, comfort and unity.
Shana tova u’metukah – may the year ahead be one of health, sweetness and peace for you, your families and all communities.
