Panada Boutique High Holy Day Fashion

What’s fashionable this season?

Panada Boutique is here to give you the scoop on the fashion trends making an appearance this Rosh Hashanah.

With the High Holy Days approaching, it’s time to consult the wardrobe for the right colour, style and comfort for the upcoming synagogue services and meals. But has the pandemic left you wanting something new and fresh to rock? Panada Boutique is here to give you the scoop on what fashion trends will be making an appearance this Rosh Hashanah.

“My mother Noeline started Panada Boutique back in 1989 in Hawksburn Village, when Hawksburn was just banks, a nursery and a handful of antique stores! She felt there was a gap in the market for high quality clothing that was specifically made for women in their 40s and over like herself. Clothing that was modern yet timeless, that could take you from lunch to that special occasion and, everything in between,” Emelia, owner of Panada Boutique said. “Panada carries predominantly German clothing from Gerry Weber, Luisa Cerano and others, along with beautiful knitwear from Italy and France. Everything that makes it onto our racks is there because of its beauty and quality workmanship.

“These days alongside myself, you will find my daughter Olive helping out too, in between her university commitments.”

According to Emelia, for summertime, it’s all about the dress.

“Colours that have caught our eye are beautiful pinks, lavenders and denim blue, as well as some very tantalising neutral beige and greys, in lovely linen, cotton and silk,” she said.

The wonderful thing about Panada is that there’s an extensive range to choose from and everything is unique.

“We only order a limited number of each size which means you won’t see yourself walking down the street or across the room at a function,” Emelia explained. “We also pride ourselves on our customer service as the happiness and success of your outfit is the best advertising we can get.”

The boutique stocks from size 36-46 German which equates to an Australian 8-18, with the occasional size 6 and size 20 in select styles, and pride themselves on the fact that their clientele ranges from ages 30-100.

Understanding the custom to wear white on the High Holy Days, Emelia said there are still ways to bring a little colour into your outfit.

“For those who wish to incorporate some colour along with white, we suggest pairing a fun-coloured skirt with a lovely creamy white silk blouse, or adding a coloured cardigan, new necklace or scarf in your favourite colour.”
