Souper Bistro recently hosted an exciting collaboration with chef Nayran Tabiei.

Souper Bistro hosts regular international cuisine evenings showcasing food native to a particular nation or region. So far, guests have travelled on culinary journeys to Uzbekistan, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Its most recent dinner in collaboration with Tabiei was held last Friday night and explored Arabic cuisine.

Co-founder and CEO of Souper Kitchen Sarah Bendetsky told The AJN, “We are so excited to have collaborated with (in no particular order) cooking teacher, chef, café owner of Flavours of Syria, public speaker, social activist, Syrian refugee and all around amazing human – Nayran Tabiei.”

Tabiei donated her time without payment to support the charitable endeavours undertaken by Souper Kitchen.

“We were so lucky to have Nayran design the menu and cook for us as well as tell the guests her incredible story,” she added.

Bendetsky also explained that the real drive behind this collaboration is “to create a culture of love and understanding between Jews and Arabs – building a bridge between our cultures is so important in this day and age – when love and human connection is an exception rather than the norm”.

All proceeds from the event go directly to Souper Kitchen’s charitable projects.
