ONE of Melbourne's top kosher restaurants will open in Bondi before Pesach. Laffa Bar, which has served the Melbourne Jewish community for more than a decade, is expected to open in Hall Street in Bondi. Owner Reuven Nahoom is in the final stages of talks with Glick's, to take over their lease and move into the property located between Hadassa Kosher Butchery and Katzy's.

LESS than 48 hours after the Kashrut Authority (KA) told the community that the management of Iggy’s Bread does not consider it to be kosher and that they could not recommend it to the community, Iggy’s bread was served at a function under the hechsher of the KA.

GOLDEN Circle products should be kosher again very soon ... in Sydney at least, but perhaps not in Melbourne. After failing to renew its kosher certification (hechsher) with Victoria’s Kosher Australia body last month, the company has now come to an agreement with the Kashrut Authority (KA) in NSW.
