Toben case dismissed

THE Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) has welcomed the decision by the NSW Supreme Court to dismiss a defamation case brought by Holocaust denier Fredrick Toben.

New legislation on advocating genocide

THE federal government today (Thursday) introduced to Parliament a new criminal offence of advocating genocide, which could see offenders who publicly “counsel, promote, encourage or urge” genocide imprisoned for up to seven years.
